Atlanta’s FIRST Classical Pilates Conference

(Atlanta, GA – Midtown) – October 21 through 23 Urban Body Studios along with Gratz Pilates  will host the first Classical Pilates Conference in Atlanta.  The conference will bring 5 of the TOP internationally known classically trained Pilates instructors together in one place for one weekend.

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates. It was originally created for rehabilitation and recovery from injuries. Once Mr. Pilates moved to New York City his technique for this  total mind /  body  training method, known at the time as “ Contrology”  became used chiefly by dancers and elite athletes. The Classical Pilates style represented at this conference is used by many practitioners worldwide striving to improve their bodies and health and is directly descended from Joseph Pilates original work. The Gratz Pilates equipment used at Urban Body Studios  is the original and authentic brand and maintains Mr Pilates original dimensions , strength and  characteristic feel.

The master instructors of Pilates for the conference include

Peter Fiasca (best known for his “Classical Pilates Technique “Video Series and his book “Discovering Pure Classical Pilates”)

Brooke Siler ( best selling author of  “The Pilates Body” and its sequels )

Chris Robinson ( author of “The Core Connection”)

Dorothee VandeWalle (accomplished Pilates master and chief instructor at  Metropolitan Pilates Seattle)

MeJo Wiggin ( who has  just released a new  Gratz Arm Chair video)

Atlanta’s own Penelope Wyer Barrow will also be teaching at the event. All of these instructors were trained by Romana Kryzanowska, who is one of the Elders of Pilates and learned directly from Joseph Pilates.

The conference is designed for Pilates professionals AND serious students that  want to take their knowledge of Pilates to a higher level.  The conference is not designed for beginners , but welcomes those currently practicing  contemporary Pilates but not familiar with the Classical Pilates work.
